Thanksgiving Apple Pie Cheesecake Recipe

Thanksgiving is approaching and we all know that one of the most important parts of the family meal is the dessert. This recipe for an apple pie cheesecake puts a twist on the traditional american dessert. It is a perfect autumn dessert to bring together the family during the holiday.

Ingredients:

Crust

1/2 cup of crushed graham crackers

  • 5 tsp of brown sugar

  • 4 tbs of melted sugar

Filling:

  • 2 8oz cream cheese spreads

  • ¼ cup of brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract

  • 3 tbsp of sour cream

  • ½ tsp of cinnamon

  • ⅛ tsp of ground ginger

  • ⅔ cup of peeled and sliced apples

Topping:

  • 3 tbsp of flour

  • 3 tbsp of quick oats

  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar

  • 3 tbsp of cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp of cold sugar

Directions:

  • Preheat oven at 350 degrees.

  • In a small bowl, place graham crackers, brown sugar, and melted butter and stir to combine all ingredients.

  • Take crust mix and press into preferred greased baking pan and set aside.

  • In a small bowl mix together cream cheese until a cream like texture is created.

  • Add in brown sugar until smooth and then beat in egg at a slow speed. Once those are fully combined add in vanilla, sour cream, cinnamon and ginger.

  • Pour mixture into pan with crust and place the apple slices on the top of the batter. Set aside while creating the crumble.

  • Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in a food processor at a medium speed and add in cold butter in slices (this step can be done in a bowl with a mixer is needed).Take crumble and sprinkle of apple slices.

  • Place baking pan in oven for 40-45 minutes or more until the center is set and does not jiggle when moved.

  • Take out and let cool on a wire rack until it is no longer to hot to touch.

  • Then place pan into fridge for about an hour or until it is fully set and cold at the center.

  • Using a knife carefully run around the sides of the pan to separate cheesecake from the edges and serve.
