Season two of the original Netflix Series Stranger Things was one of the most anticipated releases of the month. It’s Halloweekend release date made it perfect seasonal binge watch.

The season received a 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, just a one percent drop from the first season’s 96 percent shows that it was not in jeopardy of becoming a one-season-wonder. The success of this Sci Fi series shows that streaming networks like Netflix are creating competition for big television and film companies.

This season was composed of 9, 50 minute episodes. The episodes, which are filled with throwbacks to the 80s, creates a nostalgic feeling that plays along with the suspense of the Sci Fi elements, constant cliff hanger endings and comedic one liners that are thrown in to break the tension.

This season paid homage to it’s predecessor through a continuing plot, but one year later on the anniversary of the disappearing of Will and the appearance of Eleven. Alongside season one characters were are multiple new characters that moved to Hawkins like Max, a girl who moves into town and seems to catch the attention of the boys and her suspicious older brother Billy. Along with some connections to the previous plot, a second storyline opens following Eleven and a group of new characters, one of which has similar powers, who are trying to get her to join their ragtag team of criminals to seek justice.

Season two ended with just enough loose threads to hint at the possibility for a next season.
