The intent of this painting is to evoke thoughts of becoming one with nature. The woman is naked, revoking all man made materials being literally surrounded by nature in the form of an octopus. It is a modern take on Katsushika Hokusai’s piece The Dream of a Fisherman’s Wife. The piece is supposed to emphasize nature (the octopus) over material. The title is a play on words instead of mother nature it is modern nature.
